Ben
F. Stokes, III is a native of Mobile and the founding
partner of the firm. At age 20 he received his Bachelor of Arts
in Political Science at Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham,
Alabama. Thereafter he attended Duke University Graduate School.
In 1952 Ben entered law school at the University of Alabama, graduating
in 1954 with an LLB, now Doctor of Juridicial Science. After law
school he served in the United States Army Jag Corps. Ben was honorably
discharged from the Army in 1958 at which time he started his law
practice in Mobile, Alabama. Since the firm's inception, he has
always been the senior partner. His practice over the past forty
years has focused on collections, real estate, probate and domestic
relations. Ben served as a legislator in the Alabama House of Representatives
from 1970 to 1974. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal
courts in Alabama. He previously served as an officer of the Mobile
Bar Association and is presently a member of the Alabama Bar Association,
Commercial Law League of America, and the Alabama Trial Lawyers
Association. Ben is currently the senior member of Stokes &
Clinton, P.C.
